Battery size for helicopters

Recommendations on Helicopter battery sizes, Lithium Ion

This is data that we get back from Heli Pilots that are in the Field.  These numbers are not absolute, numbers of flights per charge depend many different factors; time per flight, type of flying, and the end users Helicopter set up.  This data is only a guide!

.30 Class sized Helicopters

  • 2600 Relion or Peerless packs, 6-7 flights on a full charge, stopping when the pack reaches 7.2 volts under a 1amp load.
  • 5200 Relion or Peerless packs, 12-14 flights on a full charge, stopping when the pack reaches 7.2 volts under a 1amp load.

.50 Class Sized Helicopters

  • 2600 Relion or Peerless packs, 5-6 flights on a full charge, stopping when the pack reaches 7.2 volts under a 1amp load.
  • 5200 Relion or Peerless packs, 11-13 flights on a full charge, stopping when the pack reaches 7.2 volts under a 1amp load.

.90 Class Sized Helicopters
Fromeco Recommends that 90 size heli's be only flown on 5200  packs due to amp load.

  • 2600 Relion or Peerless packs, 4-5 flights on a full charge, stopping when the pack reaches 7.2 volts under a 1amp load.
  • 5200 Relion or Peerless packs, 10-12 flights on a full charge, stopping when the pack reaches 7.2 volts under a 1amp load.
