The new Fromeco Quad Current Meter

What is it?:

QCM in Action

QCM in Action 2

The Fromeco Quad Current Meter (QCM) is a small device that is used for Matching Multiple Servos driving Single Flight Surfaces.   In other words matching servos that are ganged together.

How does it work?:

The QCM measures current for individual servos and displays the servos reading on the display.   The QCM does this for 1, 2, 3,  or 4 servos at once.

In the picture above you can see a QCM inbetween a Smartfly Power Expander EQ10 and a Aeroprotect 4 Servo Rudder tray.   Fromeco has intentionally (using the Smartfly Power Expander) mismatched the Rudder Tray.   As you can see Servo#2 is reading 1.1amps, Servo#1 (which is connected the same bolt as the Servo#2) is reading 882mA.   Due to the stress that is being put on the tray by Servo#2, Servos#3 and #4 are also seeing elevated loads.   Servo#3 is 776mA, and Servo#4 is 624mA.

The picture above is a continuation of the first picture.   Here Fromeco has adjusted the Aeroprotect Rudder Tray using the Smartfly Power Expander EQ10.   We have adjusted Servo#2 so that is now in sink with Servos#3 and #4.   As you can see from the picture Servo#1 now needs to be adjusted slightly to get all Servos to be matched.

The final Picture shows all 4 Servos at a 0 reading.
